ESET offers a reliable anti-malware engine, useful firewall settings as well as a password manager that offers forms filling and protection for browsers and good network security tools. Its parental control along with its secure browser and anti-theft capabilities are decent but nothing outstanding. It doesn’t include a VPN or microphone protection, but it does allow remote screen recording or camera access to check what a burglar has been doing on your smartphone or laptop.
The program is designed using an intuitive interface that novices are able to understand, but also has extensive information and features for those who are more advanced. The company also provides excellent customer support, which can be accessed via their website or directly from the client by clicking the “support” tab that is located all the way at the bottom of the application.
We really liked the fact that ESET Internet Security shows you how it’s protecting your PC by showing a status bar near the top of the window and also provides you with comprehensive security statistics. The program will notify you on the desktop, near the system tray, whenever something happens on your computer.
However the anti-phishing tools of the antivirus were a bit too vigilant and it blocked quite a many websites that aren’t listed on PhishTank which I am confident in. The program also automatically examines USB storage devices once they are connected to our laptop. This was irritating, as many other programs require permission.
